Concert Band

The Yusof Ishak Secondary School Concert Band is a group of passionate students who enjoy learning and making music together. Consisting of instruments from the Woodwind, Brass and Percussion sections, the Concert Band presents music of various genres and styles. Our Concert Band students not only grow to be artistic musicians, but also to be resilient and self-motivated learners.

Key Programmes

a)           Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation (SYFAP) and Public Performances

The Concert Band actively participates in the SYF Arts Presentation, a signature platform celebrating students' artistic growth. Furthermore, the Concert Band also has opportunities to perform at public events, such as the Pasir-Ris Punggol National Day Dinner in August 2024. Through participation in the SYF Arts Presentation and public performances, our Concert Band students grow in confidence and character through the arts.

b)           School Events and National Day Celebrations

The Concert Band is proud to perform at various school events, for example during our annual Speech Days. Every year, the Concert Band also plays an important part in our National Day celebrations in school, providing live accompaniment for the march-in of the uniform groups, as well as our national anthem. This aims to foster national identity and pride through music.
